Diamond Rugs to Record Live for KEXP 6/22
What do you get when you mix John McCauley and Robbie Crowell of Deer Tick with Ian St. Pe of Black Lips, Hardy Morris of Dead Confederate, Steve Berlin of Los Lobo and Bryan Dufresne of Six Finger Satellite? Diamond Rugs – the latest rock-and-roll collaboration, putting out the kind of timeless anthems that you might find yourself singing along to, between shots of whiskey, as it plays from the jukebox in a Nashville pub. In conjunction with Partisan Records, the band released their debut album in April of this year. The self-titled album boasts a rebellious rock-and-roll attitude – relentless punk rock instrumentation under raw vocal melodies. Check it out here.
Diamond Rugs will be at the studio to record a live in-studio session to be broadcast over KEXP radio on Friday, June 22 at 12N EST, before heading over to Brooklyn to perform with Roomrunner and Richard Buckner. The band is sticking around in New York City for the weekend – playing at Central Park’s Summerstage on June 24th, as well as The Late Show with David Letterman on June 25th.
Make sure to tune into 90.3FM, or visit kexp.org, tomorrow at noon to catch the live in-studio session from The Cutting Room!
