Laura Olivia Kaplan

A recent graduate of New York University’s Department of Philosophy, Laura has worked within a wide variety of creative industries to develop not only an range of technical knowledge and a trained eye for effective design, but an understanding of the creative process in its most general sense. A self-taught video editor, Laura began to develop an interest photography prior to entering university, pursuing projects both behind and in front of the camera. Her interests soon led to her to cultivate a knowledge graphic design and web development, working with a number of start up companies to design and build their websites and graphics. Soon after, Laura took a position with fashion design label San & Soni where she worked to develop marketing campaigns, including conceptualizing and art directing a promotional video for the company website. After studying garment construction at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Laura continued her involvement in film art direction and wardrobe styling, working on a variety of projects including an independent full-length feature. Driven by a love of music, and all things beautiful, Laura joined The Cutting Room in 2012 where she developed and executed a network of design services for the independent artist.
